So this is happening. One of my very dearest friends has a little boy that just had a bone marrow transplant. His name is Rowan Gundlach. I would like to raise some money for this family.
Not only did this little guy have a bone marrow transplant but the mother and father have had significant health issues for their entire lives.
This bone marrow transplant will leave them struggling more now than even before.
Here’s my idea…..
We’re going to make cowls. How will that help? Well, here goes.
I am asking that between now, September 1st, and October 1st, experienced sewists come in to the shop and make a cowl. We will cut the Shannon Cuddle for you. You will watch the video below on how to make this cowl. We cannot provide a class for each person coming in, but we can provide simple guidance.
You will sit at one of our machines with a walking foot on it, and sew a cowl. When you’re completed you will leave the cowl with us. After we have made at least 40 cowls, then we will sell them. This is the perfect time of year to be selling cowls. The cowls will be sold for $40 each. $10 will be held to cover the cost of making them, and $30 will be donated to family for each cowl sold. If we can sell 40 cowls, that’s $1200. If we can make and sell more, great!!!!
If you want to take the fabric home and sew it and return it, then you will be asked to leave a deposit of $40 per cowl that will be returned to you when you return the cowl.
In addition we will be taking donations. If you cannot sew a cowl, a donation is much appreciated.
Let’s make sure that this family can have a decent Christmas. Here is the video, below.
