Bungalow Quilting - The Uptown in Any Town

A Tisket, a Tasket I love my Picnic Basket! Picnic Basket Contest

February 26, 2015 by Judy

A Tisket, A Tasket I love my Picnic Basket!
Make a picnic basket. Wisconsinites love nothing more than to eat outside. That’s because it’s such a novelty. We do it for so many gatherings. We invented tailgating. We love to have company for dinner in the summer and put our finery on the picnic table. And we love to surprise a loved one with an outdoor picnic.
Make a picnic basket. It will put a spring in your step. It will get you dreaming of warmer days. It will get you planning menus and bottles of wine.
Make a picnic basket. You could win a $100 shopping spree at Bungalow. There will be one winner chosen and the baskets will be displayed at both locations, Milwaukee and Ripon. Second prize is awarded at as well, which will be a basket of goodies from Bungalow Quilting and Yarn.
Official Rules:
Participant must buy all fabric related supplies at Bungalow Quilting and Yarn. Basket and dishes or food products may be purchased elsewhere. (We encourage purchase from other small businesses, but will not affect the judging).
Baskets must include the minimum, but certainly can include much more:
1. Tablecloth or picnic quilt
2. Napkins (must be fabric or knitted)
3. At least one place-setting
4. Name, address and phone number somewhere on or in the basket. Must include an inventory of what is in the basket.
Baskets will be judged by viewer’s choice. Customers will vote in shop and be given a ballot. It will be on the honor system. We trust that customers will not stuff the ballot box.
No perishable food items in the basket. You can put empty wine bottles in the baskets and empty food containers to resemble what would go in the basket. Please make sure the food containers have no food residue in them.
Baskets will be displayed at place of entry initially, and then the Milwaukee baskets will travel to Ripon and the Ripon ones to Milwaukee.
You can use anything for the basket. Be creative. You can cover a box with fabric, line the inside of a basket or use a galvanized tub. You can knit it and felt it! Anything is acceptable for the basket as creativity is encouraged.
80% of fabric product in the basket must be purchased at time of sign-up or after. May not use fabric purchased before the sign up date.
You may also include knitted items, and this is encouraged. Yarn purchases are subject to the same above rules. Must be purchased at the time of sign up or after to be included in the basket contest.
Contest is open to Bungalow employees since the judging will be done by our customers, not by ourselves.

Bungalow Quilting and Yarn reserves the right to cancel the contest for lack of participation. If there is low partipation the event may be canceled. No refunds will be given for purchase relating to basket. Definition of low participation: Fewer than 15 entrants.
Baskets must be finished by June 1st. Judging will take place the entire month of June and July. Prizes will be awarded August 1st.
