Bungalow Quilting - The Uptown in Any Town

Something New and Exciting…Lampshade kits!

December 10, 2015 by Judy

So do you want to let your light shine through your favorite fabric? Well have we got something for you! You can purchase these from our Etsy shop. What you need is the kit and your favorite fabric. Then you’ll need a lining. The instructions are included so you’re good to go. I had these specially made according to what I thought would be the perfect hanging lamp to showcase your favorite fabric. It’s easy enough for a beginning sewist.

The kit includes the top hoop with the spokes and center washer that sits down over the bulb. There is a lower ring for the bottom. Then you need the hanging cord. No need for an electrician. It hangs from a hook in the ceiling, and the switch is in the cord. Voila.

They sky’s the limit! You can make one to support your favorite team. You can make one from patchwork. You can embroider the outside or couch it with yarn.

We all have that one fabric that we love so much–well, one? Not really. Lots! But sometimes there’s one that is so beautiful that you don’t want to cut it. Wouldn’t this be perfect? You can make it as long or as short as you want it to be. This one in the photo below started at 18 inches. By the time it’s sewn together and sewn to the ring it’s about 16 inches long. All the frames are the same diameter, 14 inches.

There is no sticky shade to apply it to. You simply sew the shade and sew it to the frame. Beautiful. So visit the Etsy shop or our shop in Ripon.
