Bungalow Quilting - The Uptown in Any Town

Pajama Bottom Class–Beginning Garment Sewing

Join me on November 15th, Saturday for a beginning garment sewing class. We will be making pajama bottoms.

Think of the ENDLESS possibilities of the fun you can have making something like this. You can make them in many different novelty fabrics or plaids, or plaid flannel. It’s really a great deal of fun.

Here’s the what, when, where and how:

What: Beginning Garment Sewing Class–Pajama pants

Objectives:

  • Learn about grain line of fabric
  • Learn how to layout and pin a paper pattern
  • Learn how to read a pattern ie: sizing, fabric amounts, notions needed, suitable fabric types, selecting a view
  • Learn how to measure your body for appropriate sizing
  • Learn what the markings on patterns mean
  • Learn how to pin and cut a pattern
  • Learn various seam finishing techniques
  • Learn how to sew the pajama pants together
  • Learn how to make a casing
  • Learn how to make a hem
  • Learn how to lengthen and shorten a pattern.

This is a VERY comprehensive class. Be prepared to learn a lot. When you are done with this class you will be well on your way to making a second beginner pattern that you can navigate successfully.

When: Saturday October 15th starting at 0900 sharp and ending at 4:00. We will break for lunch at which time you can leave for lunch or bring your own lunch.

Where: Location to be determined depending on sign up.

*****Class size will be limited so sign up quickly. NO REFUNDS for any reason will be given as I have to plan for this day, I have to be available for the full day.

This is perfectly timed for Christmas as these make amazing gifts.

How much? $100 and includes the pattern. You will receive 10% off on fabric that day! On ANY fabric, not just your pj fabric. Each sign up comes with a 10% coupon to be used on that day.

Who? Well, if you know how to use your sewing machine, you can sign up. No one under the age of 14.

  • Notes: You must know how to use your sewing machine.
  • You must have used the sewing machine recently, and it should be cleaned before hand. Not necessarily professionally cleaned but you should clean it.
  • You must have very sharp dressmaker scissors.

Supply list to be emailed prior to class after sign up. No one has a place reserved until payment is received.

About Judy

Judy has been sewing for most of her life, starting at about age 9. She is the owner of Bungalow Quilting and Yarn, and the author of “Quilts for Scrap Lovers: 16 Projects Start with Simple Squares”.
