Bungalow Quilting - The Uptown in Any Town

Tuffet Class

Class is June 18th and 25th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Lunch is included.
Tuffet Class supply list

TuffetSource pattern (fusible interfacing included)
Fabric for tuffet top:
64 strips cut 2” by 21” OR
One jelly roll/strip roll of at least 32 strips cut in half (to yield 64 strips at 2 ½ x 21”) OR
8 fat quarters cut into 2” x 21” strips
No need to trim strips; one or two extra in case of mistakes is a good idea
1 ¼ yards muslin
6” square fabric for button
1 fat quarter for bottom of tuffet
1 piece of 18” x 18” batting for bottom of tuffet (optional, not needed for first class)
Straight pins
Rotary cutter with a sharp blade
12” Add a Quarter ruler
Fons & Porter’s glue basting pen
Template plastic (a scrap is okay, as long as it has one straight side that’s 12” long)
Piecing thread
Sewing machine in good working order
Schmetz quilting needles size 90/14
¼ inch foot
Zigzag foot
Typical sewing supplies: Seam ripper, scissors, etc.
Kit (provided by instructor) includes:
Cut, drilled, and sanded plywood base
6” upholstery foam, beveled
Tee nuts
Heavyweight Dacron upholstery batting
Button form

The kit fee is $60 plus tax, payable to the instructor at the first class
Optional feet are available at $30 plus tax for a set of four
Instructor will provide:
Upholstery grade staple gun and staples
Safety equipment
Upholstery spray adhesive
Hammers
Marking tools
12” upholstery needles
Various other tools as needed
Class fee is $80 payable to Cheryl Schenck. Optional wooden feet are $30. Kit fee $60.
