This past week I had the distinct pleasure of working with Nancy Zieman. While I have always been a fan of Nancy’s I never realized the extent to which her grace and knowledge have influenced the sewing world. In case you’re reading this and you don’t know who she is, Nancy has been appearing on PBS for many decades. She has a show about sewing and all things sewing related.

So what’s really in the spirit of scrap quilting? It comes from so many things. It comes from wanting to use things up. It is the original version of being “green”. It’s all about memories, and it’s all about walking through each piece of fabric and remembering where you bought it, what it’s original intent was and what you loved about it.
