Bungalow Quilting

Bungalow Quilting - The Uptown in Any Town

What a Difference Value (Intensity) Makes!

January 22, 2016 by Judy

I was throwing together fabric combinations for an ad. I wanted to show the great fabrics that we will have for the Fabric Fashion Show in March. This is a really fun event. It is a sold out event every year. What we do is we put groupings of fabric together. I usually choose the customers that really wow me when they come in to the shop. They are the

In Shop Mini Swap

January 4, 2016 by Judy

How many of you have done mini-swaps on Instagram? Quite a few, I bet. I just finished one and it was really fun. I haven’t received my mini quilt yet, but I have sent mine off. In this one, you could choose to send internationally or stay in the states. I figured that since I am older and more established, I should be generous and choose an international partner. I

Monthly Challenge

January 4, 2016 by Judy

We are doing a monthly challenge at the Bungalow. Each month we will select a fabric. Then, you can come into the shop and receive a piece of this fabric–for free. Take it home and do something fun with it. Bring it back at the end of the month. We will display them the following month. You could win a sweet fat quarter bundle worth $25.00. We will have in

Bulky Hat

December 20, 2015 by Judy

Well, this weather has not been the most conducive to wearing all these cute bulky things that we knit up. It’s too warm. When did I ever think that we would say this in Wisconsin? I made this adorable hat for Peter’s girlfriend. Peter is my 19 year old son. He has been dating this lovely girl for a while. I know. I try not to get attached. They’re very

And More Lampshades

December 20, 2015 by Judy

Here’s the second lamp shade that I have made using the new kits. The kits are ready to sell. I will be taking them to Quilt Con out in Pasadena. I think that they are a wonderful way to use your favorite fabrics. What could be better than letting the light shine through your favorite print! I think that they would work up well using collegiate fabrics. They would be

Yes that’s right! You can pre-order my book on Amazon. It doesn’t come out officially until March of 2016. But, it can be pre-ordered now. I’m still sewing, but knitting too!

December 2, 2015 by Judy

Welcome to “I’m knitting and sewing as fast as I can” season. Are you trying to finish Christmas projects? Are you knitting mittens? Are you knitting scarves or cowls? I have been knitting lots of hats for winter. Not necessarily Christmas but winter in general. The best time to knit cute little baby hats is when the baby is too small to pull it off. I used to get so

Great Package Tie on

November 24, 2015 by Judy

I am all about packaging. After all, when you go into a grocery store, so much of what you see is packaging. Food companies and large companies in general take packaging into great consideration. They have entire art departments working on packaging designs. And, if the packaging of food isn’t just right, it probably won’t sell. I have heard that laundry detergent sells better when it is in a red

Sewing at the Bungalow

November 20, 2015 by Judy

There’s always someone sewing in the back room at the Bungalow. We’re very inviting. We like to have people in the back sewing. Sometimes people need a little help with their projects so they just come on in and work on them in the back. We have several Berninas in the back for people to use. We also have a “Go” cutter. The die cutter can be rented for $10/hr.
